floating leaf glide across the lake,
touching water with a ripple to make,
floating leaf sticks to the water top,
with sprinkles of rain to each drop,
floating leaf sinks down into the deep,
passing other plants declining steep,
leaf touches bottom with currents push,
over the waterfall with a constant whoosh,
floating leaf again soars over the land,
winds blowing hard of more to withstand,
floating leaf crosses a meadow of flowers red,
touching ground in a damp creek bed,
stem stabbed deep into the mud so pure,
until a cow dumps a load of its manure,
fertilized with food and water to drink,
another tree grows from a combining root link,
spreading leaves to capture the suns bright,
many floating leaves adventure in their own flight.
