Bright Saviour

beautiful views of the mountains pass,
along the hills of waving grass,
humming a song i cannot sing in tune,
watching the sunset all afternoon,
searching for troubles no matter how small,
hearing a crying near the mountain wall,
coming in for a landing to hope not to scare,
as she sits with tears dropping from her stare,
brightly i come closer with a sympathetic face,
but i am burning and cannot hold her in embrace,
she fell off the cliff and hurt her knee,
luckily stopped from falling by a branch of a tree,
i extend my wing to let her climb on my back,
as i dig my long nails in walking up the track,
dropping her off and giving a smile before i fly,
i dried those tears away so she wouldn't cry.
