i climbed that ladder to the top,
for a moment i looked down after a stop,
the height made me dizzy and weak in the knees,
the wind hit me suddenly almost to freeze,
a vibration in my pocket as my phone gave an alert,
i reached in between my jacket and shirt,
taking it out and answering it then,
talking to my love and hanging up when....
i missed my pocket and down went the phone,
sliding down the tiles all alone,
a hope as it might stop at the gutter fast,
but instead it jumped when i saw it last,
falling down who knows where,
all i could do is give a blank stare,
so many photos with so many contacts inside,
my missed things made my imagination so wide,
as i climbed down the ladder i saw a faint glow,
the phone was still lit up after its deadly blow,
i picked it up and the screen was ok,
but the buttons were shot far away,
i could still press the places with my fingernail,
after getting my contacts and photos it then began to fail,
a missing bottom with a bent plastic half exposed circuits nest,
the war of technology with me involved is usually not best.
